Full Version: move all volume sliders at once

after installing foobar2000 i've got a different volume slider set.
these volume sliders arent moving together when i click the button.. the button wont stay checked, preventing my rear speakers from increasing in volume with the front speakers.

i've got a screenshot of the volume sliders.. and my asio is losing it at 2ms and sometimes crackling at 4ms (a capacitor upgrade on the soundcard is needed?)

bump.. this hasnt affected me much, but i'd like the problem fixed in case i ever decide to throw the rear speakers on.

why have you set your ASIO latency so low, are you recording?

What soundcard do you have?

because i can? because its an improvement over 8ms?
since when do we question lower latency as a bad thing!?

xfi elite pro

your card craps out at a higher latency??

Low latency is useless unless you've got some specific reason for which you require low latency. Music playback is not one such reason. In fact, I can't think of any use of foobar2000 where that kind of latency is important. In this instance, it's generally more sensible to provide higher latency so that there is even less chance of a buffer underflow.

Edit: A friend of mine mentioned that using wallpapers can occasionally interfere with low-latency playback. Try disabling it and see if that helps at all.

Well if your ASIO is "losing it" at 2ms and crackling at 4ms how can that be an improvement over 8ms?

shouldn't you be using the volume sliders in the control panel that comes with drivers for the xfi elite pro?

Actually, i have no problems with with playback with latency's lower than 2ms. but there is no point having it that low for playback, but for recording thats a different matter altogether.

Come to think of it, has this thread anything actually to do with foobar, it may need to be moved, Mods?

crackling at 4ms is very rare - somebody asked that i post such information

everytime i touch the volume control that came with the xfi the rear sliders zap to zero and channel 8 zaps to maximum.. i've reinstalled the drivers and the problem still persists.

my first post specifically states that the problem arised after installing foobar2000 and prior to the installation of foobar2000 my rear channels increased in volume in sync with the front speakers.. the problem has absolutely nothing to do with my setup prior to foobar2000.
why are you giving the moderators such bad advice?
why are you giving yourself such bad advice?

none of you have posted anything that touches base with my initial problem.
steering my thread off-topic and wrongfully suggesting threats of action/punishment is not why i posted here on the forum.
i'm not looking to talk over a cup of coffee people.. i have a legitimate problem and my time as well as your time has been wasted with off-topic talk.

the only person who can help is the person who can look at the program code. i've given the problem with a screenshot of evidence.

no more off-topic conversation.

It seems that the last version of XFI drivers have some issues with rear speakers, there is a note about this on Creative's drvers download page

When adjusting the master volume in any of the Mode Console, there is no sound output in the rear speakers. (Use the Microsoft Volume Control panel to adjust the master volume)

game mode adjusts all volume sliders accordingly when using the driver console window rather than the microsoft control panel.
however audio creation mode and entertainment mode do not.

the word 'any' is incorrect

i'm not going any further with this.. i just spent an hour wondering why my internet wasnt working, only to realized i turned the firewall to 'block all traffic'

(you computer dj's are just gonna have to look busy with an equalizer window and microsoft volume panel seperated)

thanks for the info (that quote really urked me)
