Hi, a friend of mine sell me this audio file (a demo song) burn in WAV onto a CD, and in his opinion it wasn't compressed before, but by looking at the wave spectrum:

it seems that there is a strange line in the upper half and some frequencies seems cut.
What do you think, are this music compressed? (the genre is electronic pop generated by a synth)
Axon
No. The line's probably NTSC related.

I agree with Axon. Use a frequency analysis to find out the exact frequency of that line. If it's 15.734 kHz, then it's NTSC line frequency. (15.625 kHz is the line frequency in the PAL standard)

Ok, thanks, I'm not very expert in this field...
So this line is normal? Does it mean that someone convert this from some other format?
By the way, if you look at the right side of the image it seems that some frequencies are cut, is that normal?

What this means is that when the sound was recorded it accidentally picked up noise from a nearby television set. It has nothing to do with any further processing or compression of the data.
