Hi, I've recently installed Windows Vista and seem to be having some problems with EAC. I'm using a Plextor PX-755 drive.

- When ripping a disc, Windows (or at least my USB mouse) starts lagging heavily
- It's really slow, i.e. burst reading tops up at 7x when I was getting a few times that under Windows XP

Has anyone encountered these issues or know how to resolve them? Thanks.

Nope, EAC works perfectly for me, but then again I'm using it with an OEM installation.

Things you could check:

1 - Ensure your drive's firmware is up to date
2 - Ensure Vista is fully patched and updated (SP1 included)
3 - Ensure your BIOS is up to date also

Might be stating the obvious, but the wnaspi32.dll may help.

Yes, I've updated the drive firmware to the latest (1.08), installed Vista SP1 plus all updates and also tried using FrogAspi.

I'll see if there's a newer BIOS and try doing more testing on other CDs. I've tried about 10 or so CDs so far and they've all caused the same problems though.

I know its painfull but I suggest creating a dual boot system. smile.gif
I am having too many problems with vista too.

The weird thing is that I just tried dBpoweramp and Windows Media Player, and they don't have these problems. Sigh, it looks like I'll just have to live with it as I don't really want to dual-boot or go back to XP just for ripping CDs. sad.gif
