Hi,

I've recorded "The Man with the Golden Gun" from german TV via dvb-c. Of course I started capturing a few minutes before the movie and that's the problem. When the movie starts, the audio stream seems to change from stereo to mono and if I convert the audio to wav with dBpoweramp the sound during the whole movie sounds to deep.

If I load the audio into Audacity and export it as wav everything sounds normal.
When I play the recorded *.mpg everything sounds fine too IF I disable ffdshow's mp2 codec.

I've also made a short sample. The first 10 seconds sound normal the following 15 seconds are from The Man with the Golden Gun.

Of course I could simply use Audacity but I'd really like to use dBpoweramp because it is much faster.

Is this a bug in dBpoweramp 12.4 and what can I do?

You can always cut the MP2 stream at the point where the change ocurred without any rush, and reclaim original mono data.

Out of curiosity: What bitrate does German TV use?
spoon
When converting we do not support changes to sample rate or channels mid stream.

Ok, so I have to use Audacity. sad.gif

The big public broadcasters use 256kbps mp2, 192/128kbps for SAP and a 448kbps AC3 channel. The smaller send 256/192kbps mp2.

The commercial broadcaster use 192kbps mp2 and the major channels send a 384kbps AC3 channel.
