Full Version: EAC completely frozen

So I was just starting to extract a track with EAC, and the program crashed. If I recall correctly, this has never happened to me before.

When I re-opened the program, everything was virtually frozen. The WAV, MP3, and IMG buttons on the left are all grayed out, and EAC isn't recognizing either of my CD drives. I've tried everything - rebooting, uninstalling/reinstalling (I've tried 3 different versions now), but the result is always the same.

It's just stuck in this state where it won't recognize a CD and won't recognize my drives. Strangely, both drives are still working flawlessly with any other ripping/burning software.

Anyone have a clue what's going on here?

Try also deleting the registry values for EAC located at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AWSoftware\EAC

(Export a backup of the keys before you do it)

I was really hoping that would work, but it's still the same.

I'm guessing there are still other configuration settings hidden somewhere on the system. If anyone can direct me to them, it would be greatly appreciated.

uninstall daemon tools
uninstall nimo codec pack
remove registry entries
delete the EAC folder
reinstall EAC (try another version as well)
install ASPI
refresh firmware

It was actually very simple, but something I had overlooked...

Under the interface options of EAC, "installed external ASPI interface" had somehow become selected. I certainly didn't do this myself as I was in the middle of an operation when EAC crashed and the problem started when I re-opened it.

Anyway, I simply selected "native" (and restarted EAC, which was crucial!) - and now all is ok.

Thanks a bunch for pointing me to that article. cool.gif
