I really need your help! My albums have a folder.jpg as cover in the folder and sometimes the problem (described above) occurs. The folder.jpg image is then hidden und has a really bad quality. To fix this I have to delete this image and put a new cover-image in the folder.

How can I prevent Windows from screwing up my music collection?

Huh? I don't know of Windows automatically adding folder.jpgs to tags, although I know it will automatically use them for the folder thumbnail image (and hide the file in the process).
