Dogbert, please answer this:
Is there a player or sound recording software that permits recording of ''what you hear'' using your [Dogbert's] drivers or is this not possible?
I haven't been able to find recording software that will 'find' or allow use of the CMI/8738 device.
Thanks.

If you have a Realtek HD onboard audio, just use its internal PCM loopback to record what you need.

Cheers Martel.
I've crashed into a wall with this 'thing' and can't seem to get any responses/assistance in this forum-v. frusteratin' as can be imagined. Perhaps I have missed something or am being just thick, I dunno.
I dont have the opportunity to use any onboard devices But thanks anyway, big time.

No, currently you cannot record "what u hear" with Dogbert's driver. Still, you can email him (the address is on the project page), describing the merits and goods of that feature.

ok. I will write to D.

I received a letter from Dogbert...good news in ways, for those with interest in or who might have this same problem.

the letter:

''implementing "what you hear" is possible, but I'm afraid I currently
lack the time for doing this. However, there is a shareware called
"Virtual Audio Cable" which works by creating a virtual soundcard. This
soundcard's output can be wired not only to real devices but also back
to its recording input. good luck, dogbert''

alright then, will have a try with it
