I guess that it fits in the mp3 section of this board, cause it plays mp3s cds (duh).
I just would like to share my impressions with the audio coding community.

Got it about 3 months ago, for about u$ 257. Its a good stereo, but its mp3 capabilities really sux sometimes imo.
Pros:

Cons:
no auto reverse for tapes;
u have to change cds 1 by 1, and its slooow;

Interesting. Thanks. I'm on the lookout for a large portable that plays MP3, but so far Philips is the only major manufacturer to make one available in Australia (AFAIK).

Not many MP3 players have random play, and those that do may only play the tracks random within a folder.

My Sony D-CJ01 CD Walkman does everything I want except play VBR properly. It has full random play and will play files with ID3V2 tags (but only displays V1 tag). It also has a Line Out jack so I can plug it into any hifi with A/V input jacks.
