No tracks could be verified as accurate
You may have a different pressing from the one(s) in the database

No errors occurred

I stand corrected.
spoon
AccurateRip has no links to metadata, it is seperate.

"You may have a different pressing from the one(s) in the database"

This is the line that counts.

there is only one pressing of this album

i ripped it twice same log each time
gib
Two rips with CRCs matched for both rips means you can be very certain the rip is good.

And how do you know there's only one pressing?
CoyoteSmith
the record company is very small and i follow everything they release closely.
spoon
Can you be 100% sure that onebatch of CDs was not created in 2004, then in 2006 another batch of CDs were made, that would create a new pressing.
Fandango
Yes, releases can a) be pressed in different CD factories or b) in different batches, in both cases the machines were calibrated differently and thus you get an audio data skew which results in different CRCs.

CD and DVD manufactoring is never a 1:1 process. But in case of data CDs and all DVDs it doesn't matter since the data is stored as files in another higher abstraction layer, i.e. a filesystem. While audio data on audio CDs is stored "raw" and therefore calibration during creation of the glass masters affects the data directly. edit: importan! only the starting and end points differ, the data itself is the same, hence "skew".

If you're really concerned about the properness of your CD, ask the record label whether they have ordered one or more batches. But still this might not proof you have a corrupt CD or something else went wrong (on your or the record labels end). The CD manufacturer could have created more than one glass master for some other reason (i.e. wear or destruction during pressings).

PS: spoon, didn't you want to implement a feature that could detect audio skew or different pressings? What's the status on that? smile.gif
spoon
It will appear in AccurateRip 2 (ability to work through offsets).
Fandango
That's great news. And I just found this... so asking you my next question here isn't necessary. tongue.gif
