Hi there. Does anyone know what might be causing this strange behaviour?

IPB Image

If I press CTRL+A to select all MP3s in a folder, I get the above (funnily enough, if I select several MP3s but not ALL, it says "Play with foobar2000" like it should.)

Foobar2000 is set as the default program for MP3s. I set this in foobar's File Types page, then checked it in Vista's Default Programs.

I've tried doing a fresh install of foobar2000, and running various registry cleaners/disk cleaners. However the problem keeps reappearing.

Does anyone know if there is a registry setting that can be cleared to fix this? Or any other solutions? Thanks

I noticed this too. This happens as soon as you select more than 15 files (of any filetype). It's some new behaviour in Vista.

I didn't find a reason or a fix yet.

It seems that this is hard-coded.

I’ve found this explanation, by someone who (as he says) works in the Windows shell team:

QUOTE

the definitive differential in the file opening experience is based upon the application's shell association type. Legacy handlers are limited to 15 selections by default for performance reasons. Applications using modern shell association methods will not have this limitation.
