A long time ago, I used to use mp3directcut to edit some of my mp3's (back in the MMJB/FHG days). I'm looking for a similar program that will let me edit an mp3 in it's native format so I don't "damage" the file by re-encoding. Something like SoundForge or CEP but for MP3's.

Download the LAME CoolEdit plugin from John33īs page: Rarewares
Click "Programs" and then "MP3"
Should be there.

Does that "need" Peter's plugin that's listed?
(The page is no longer available)
Are there any other programs?
(I'm actually not a huge fan of Cool Edit)
MP3 Frame Editor v2.11 allows you to trim, adjust volume and fade-in or fade-out your MP3's by editing the global gain field.
This has no effect on quality and won't introduce artifacts.
