Ok so I've been having problems getting ratings in the new Foobar2000. I tried that step by step guide using Quick Tagger, but I would not tag for me. It would tell me that it "Could not update tags (Access denied)." I don't know how to fix that or what thats about. So I tried using the new Playcount dll, but it doesn't even give me the choice to click a star rating... they r all grayed out. As for everything else I mostly have it covered. I have the rating's field complete and songs i had rated b4 hand are shown, but i just can't get rating new songs to work. So if anyone could help me out it would be great.
Don't know what config you use, but the new playback statistics has 2 rating-functions. The first is by rightclicking the song you want to rate and then choose the rating from context.
2nd is binding the ratings to keyboardbuttons (1 button per rating, so you need 5 buttoncombo's for it) and apply it to selected song that way.
i guess i'll say thanks cuz its working now, but i honestly don't know what i did. what it did first was show me the list of ratings 1 through 5, but they were grayed out... now i don't even know what i did and its working... i wish i knew, cuz i could help other people then.

With foo_playcount you can only add ratings to files which are in Media Library.

@ volvme+
no Database for whatever they want
For using the database yo need foo_custominfo which is not compatible with foobar2000 0.9.5.3.
