Apologies if this is a simple question.

I rescanned media library to update foobar with new compilation album.

The songs play but are listed according to artist and not album.

I made a playlist to fix this but when I try to play playlist I get:

Unable to open item for playback (Object not found):
"C:\Documents and Settings\David\Desktop\MUSIC\Cream - 15 Years\CD1\01 - Intro - Fred Falke.mp3"

Can anyone advise?

Where? In the Album list or in a playlist?

Thanks for quick reply.

In the album list, ie instead of being able to click on compilation album title and it listing all tracks on that album, each track is listed by artist in the album list.

Under album list you can change view, try by album or artist/album, folder might work to if you have them in 1 folder. Then it groups.

For this compilation album, select all songs in playlist, rightclick it and open properties. Then write Various Artists in the Album Artist-tag. Then it will group together.

You might try one or two things.

First, you might try changing the view to "by folder structure" using the drop down at the bottom of the Album List.

Or, you could use some %album artist% scheme.
This involves tagging the tracks of albums with various artists with "Various Artists" or something of the like in the %album artist% field.

This is slowly becoming the de facto standard for tagging these sorts of releases, considering Winamp and iTunes now support it.
