I am looking for a pocket recorder (and player...) with built-in microphones, that can use FLAC instead of those lossy and proprietary modes.
Any suggestions ?

Well it's not FLAC, but any portable with a voice recorder and an up-to-date working port of RockBox on it can record to WavPack, which is equally as lossless. Of course if you need Flac for software compatibility elsewhere, it's simple and safe to transcode wv -> flac.

I should have specified "a pocket dedicated stereo recorder", to make quality "on the fly" recordings.
Anyway, with 2 or 4 GO cards, no need to compress when recording. So I'll probably go this way :

You have an option to record with Sony Hi-MD recorders, there is lossless recording mode.
