Well, it seems PCABX.com has been down for some time... So I tried to email the author, but my email was sent back to me automatically. Any idea what happened there?? I really need some training samples there.. crying.gif

I don't know what happened to PCABX, but try using ff123 website for samples instead!

Arny's still around on rec.audio.opinion, FWIW. (Anybody game to invite him here? hehehe)

rec.audio.opinion does not exist as .com, .net, or .org. Just what does it mean?
smok3
usenet group.
Axon
It's Usenet. It also happens to be, hands-down, the most bile-filled and troll-infested audio discussion forum on the net.
smok3
little search on the 'andy' seems to reveal a lot of hate, example;

man , now I feel old ... laugh.gif

I emailed Arny about this a few weeks back, but the email bounced. I don't know what's going on. He still posts almost daily to at least one Usenet audio group.

rec.audio.opinion is utterly useless; it's been a wasteland of vicious trolls (*cough*George Middius*cough*) for years. The only useful audio newsgroups I know of are rec.audio.high-end (which is moderated), rec.audio.pro, and rec.audio.tech, though the latter two are also often studded with flamewars. Arny still posts to all three (as do I).

I asked AK about PCABX.com on rec.audio.tech today...whether it was gone for good or coming back. His reply:

"I'm thinking about it. It costs me about $500 a year to keep it alive."

WTF!

WTF!

Websites I administer cost over $100/year each, and they're pretty basic. So who knows?

Given how closely allied in spirit the PCABX site is to the HA.orgs ethos, maybe HA could work out some sort of hosting/sponsoring deal for his pages.

I ditto krabapple's opinion. Perhaps HA wiki could come in handy??
