Hi,

is there a functionality to suspend foobar2000's converting process without aborting it?

Thx!

No, but: Why do you think there should be one?

Yes, because converting needs much CPU load (of course) and sometimes I need the ressources spontaneously. I think a suspend button would be much more nicer than aborting, searching for the last done files and doing the whole thing again.

Would that be possible?

couldn't you just adjust the thread priority in the advanced setting in the preferences?

That's what I expected. Just try what A_Man_Eating_Duck said. You have a range from 1-7 (1 is low, 7 is high). The default one is 3 (if my remembrance is right).

Of course, one could also set the priority in the task manager. I don't know if it's the same at your's, but sometimes I need the full ressources of my PC, not only CPU, but also nemory and network bandwidth.
Our music is stored on a central PC and during conversion, all network interaction with that PC becomes terribly slow so that it takes minutes to do easy things like copying or deliting files on it.
And the only alternative is, like I said, to abort ohmy.gif

Doesnt fb2k use external programs?
If so, try this program:

http://www.diamondcs.com.au/advancedseries/apt.php

Then just find the process and click the suspend button... And when done with your other resource-requiering apps, just resume it again smile.gif

What A_Man_Eating_Duck an I mean is the "thread priority" in foobar.

You can find it here: File|Preferences|Advanced\Tools\Converter\Tread priority.

Just try it at first, before you suspend the converting process.

But like he said, he needed the RAM/Network as well, lowering the priority isnt gonna free those tongue.gif

Oh, I see. So it is not a genuine foobar2000 problem anymore...
