Hi

When I try to encode files with the new version it always crashes directly after it has finished the first file.

The problem occurs with a target bitrate of 192 kbps in CBR mode (for movies) with all wavs I've tested so far.

I've never had the crashes with any other version before (tested especially Apr 29 2008).

I compared the files these two version create and they are absolutely the same so lamedrop seems to crash right after the encoding.

Quality mode with a bitrate of approx. 192 works.

Edit: Since I've used the quality mode even CBR works without problems. I tested it several times with a just extracted lamedropxpd 2.1.exe and CBR works only without crashes if you have used quality mode before.

System:

Notebook 1,66 Ghz Core2Duo
Win Vista 32 bit SP1

Hmmm, OK here under XP Pro, I'll give it a try under 32 bit Vista Ultimate SP1 tomorrow.

OK, just tested under 32 bit Ultimate SP1, fully updated, (Asus P5N-E SLI, e6750 @ 3.4GHz, 4GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800) with no crashing at all. I have to say that the change made from V2.0 to 2.1 would be extremely unlikely to have caused a problem of this nature. I'm not suggesting that you don't have a problem, but I can't reproduce it and have been running this version for about 14 days prior to release. I must confess that it's the fact that if you encode using VBR first and can then use CBR without problems that has me confused!
