I was trying to open 50 wav files (small files, 20 secs each) from Windows explorer (vista premium) and i noticed WMP opens instead, even though foobar is the default, and opens 1 file fine.
After testing I found the maximum number of files it opens is 15.
How can i change this?

This is apparently a limitation of the Vista API.
This has been asked many times. Please use the search at the top of the page if you need more details.
I seem to recall chatter about a potential fix for this, but I don't think it will end up in 0.9.5.4, if it comes.
It's a known problem and the developers were looking into solving it at one point. I'm not sure if it's been shelved for a later date or what.

The guys over at RARLabs seems to have found a solution for their WinRAR program...
Just tried selecting 24 rar files, and the winrar option shows in the context menu

How though, no idea ^^

It seems WMP has no problem opening all the files in a playlist.
