see so many rips around,some u feel has not been rightly ripped or transcoded

is there any way to identity that a Rip has been Transcoded to a higher bit rate just to increase the file size ?

any way to identify this ? rolleyes.gif

It's kind of difficult. That's why you should only truly trust 100% those rips you've done properly yourself.

Even getting lossless (i.e. FLAC) from an unverified quality source (for example, pirate torrent sites) doesn't help much as the person could have just taken 128kbps MP3s, decoded to WAV, and then encoded to "lossless" FLAC.
