Hi i hope this hasn't been asked before and im sorry if i have made a duplicate thread but i need some help deleting an album. What i do is i remove all the songs then id click another band , click back to the band which i deleted some songs from and they appear back again i cannot seem to get rid of the songs from foobar.

Select your album in foobar, rightclick it, choose fileoperations, delete files.

Gone!

I think you remove the songs just from the playlist and not the files. You can also delete them with windows explorer and then rescan the folder that album was in with album list or facets (Remove dead entries).

If it's in your music library folder, even if you choose one of the various ways to "remove it form library", it WILL get added back when, you rescan your library, or if the file is present in one of your playlists.

The simplest thing to do would be to have a separate folder where you dump these albums you don't want in the foobar library. Sadly, this is the only "surefire" solution until Restricting folders is added to the core (which could be a while, or not happen at all).

There is a Remove Files(s) From Library command for this purpose. If you don't see it in your context menu you can add it by going to Preferences > Context Menu. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think a rescan will add the files back to the library again, assuming they haven't been moved in the meantime.

That is indeed the problem.
