When I try to play a single .APE file with a .CUE, it doesn't work. I can see all the individual tracks but a message comes up that says:

Unable to open item for playback (Object not found):
"C:\Documents and Settings\Roy.ROY-A6983DAASDA\Desktop\blah5\ornstein_cello_piano\ornstein, leo - complete works for cello and piano.cue" / index: 1

When I try to play a single .FLAC with .CUE it works perfect. I have installed the .APE plugin and can play the single .APE file, but not the individual tracks.

Why isn't this working?

edit your cue file and you'll see that the paths are pointing to wrong files

Hi 2E7AH,

I have exactly the same problem as rschwa29 - and it is a real nuisance!

However - and unfortunately - I did not really understand your reply/solution smile.gif.

When you say, "edit your cue file and you'll see that the paths are pointing to wrong files" - what do you mean exactly?

Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Open the .cue file with a text editor e.g. notepad, and you'll see a list of tracks as well as artist, title and so on, and there should be a line near the top that says FILE "blah blah.ape" or something, check you've got the right text where it says "blah blah.ape". I guess the .cue has to be in the same folder as the .ape as well. Hope that helps, I'm not too familiar with .cues and .apes...

Hi Tom,

Thanks for tip! Well, I've opened up the CUE file and it actually says "blah blah.wav" blink.gif . Hmmm. I'll change that to "blah blah.ape" first and see what happens. Then I'll report back!

UPDATE: yes, that fixed it - I'm a genius! Well, sort of wink.gif .

By the way, Blah Blah are a great band - much underrated.
