thx 2E7AH i see some of the components there are also listed as troublesome or non conpatible iam guessing not a good idea to use those ones then?
one thing though if some are troublesome or inconpatible why are they still listed?
thx anyway much appreciated
Unlike 2E7AH, I recommend the beta versions. foobar2000 betas are incredibly stable for me. They might have a bug or two in a brand new feature from time to time, but generally, they're rock solid. I've had friends run on the same beta version for months on end and never have a single problem.
There are few components that add significant functionality that is useful to the average user. The one that I don't feel complete without any more is foo_facets, which is a wonderful UI element for the default UI that allows for limitless power in sorting and browsing through music. It's kind of like a part of the iTunes interface, only with way more power.
Old, troublesome, and incompatible foobar2000 components are still listed on the wiki because the wiki is community-maintained, and not staff-maintained. The staff members maintain the problematic component lists.

You'll find
this link useful. it's a foobar components (plug-in) site. it also helps you to keep track of new versions of all components, if you create an account.
foobar2000.xrea.jp is another resource (it's in japanese, but they list the updated plugins in their first page in english).

I find the default functionalities of Foobar to be quite sufficient, and do not use any external components.
