Full Version: [request] Ability to remember login information

Hi all, I have been using fb2k for some time now, and there is only 1 option that I would really like to see.

I store my music on a server, which is protected by password. I can download .pls playlists, which are nothing more than url's to the actual file. The problem is that foobar does not remember the login information for the files, so it cannot play them.

If I use the same playlist in Itunes, it first asks me for the user name and passwd, when I fill them out correctly, all the files can be played.

I would like it if foobar would support a similar setup, since I do not want to change my playlist to hold my login/pswd.

I'd like to here what you think about this,

You might just be able to encode the login information as part of the url it self, "user:pass@url" is the usual format.

Jup, that works. But I don't like the idea of storing the user/passwd in the plain text based playlist..

I've recently pointed out some http authentication related issues here, but since there's supposedly low demand for improvement in this area it won't happen anytime soon unsure.gif
