Full Version: Problem converting using the DSP

Lately I have been using foo_dsp_dolbyhp when listening to music with my headphones. It really adds to the experience when not listening with speakers.
Now of course my mp3-player does not support such plugins and I wanted to convert the albums I listen to with the conversion tool foobar offers. There seems to be a problem with buffering or something like that, because when I enable the plugin in the dsp dialog, the encoded file is fragmented and studders at a very high frequency. I can't see the reason why this would happen, as using the plugin for playback works just fine. Would there be any way to make this work?

Some technical details: I'm using foobar 0.9.5.3. It does not matter, which encoder I choose. MP3 and Ogg produce the same results.

I had the same problem a while back, and IIRC, restricting conversion to a single core solves the problem.

And how would that be done? Is it a setting in the foobar conversion dialog I am missing or a commandline switch for the encoder?
I tried limiting the foobar process to just one core with the task manager, but that didn't do the trick.

You can change it in advanced preferences.

BTW, which version of the dolby dll are you using?

I'm using the (latest?) version 1.20.0.276.
