As per subject, my Behringer USB soundcard stutters when using foobar in vista. I've tried turning foobar's buffer to max, and using Asio4All (which stutters/glitches if anything slightly more than direct sound). Getting a stutter every few minutes or five minutes - which is annoying

Any thoughts re possible solutions. The computer I'm using is well-specified, and stutters even when not under heavy load. I've tried plugging the card into a USB port of its own and not a hub (also no joy). Windows Media Player seems to almost never stutter and the lousy integrated soundcard in the computer doesn't stutter in foobar (but is a bit noisy due to its lousiness).

I was thinking of buying a multichannel soundcard - I don't know if that would be a solution?

Have you installed SP1?

I had a similar problem with my soundcard until I installed SP1.

Good thought, but Vista's up-to-date (it came, from Dell, inc. SP1)

Maybe try the WASAPI output plugin? It will mute all other sound coming from your computer while foobar is playing however.

Thanks - have installed this, and will give it a try. Not sure if it's working right? - it seems to distort horribly if the foobar buffer is set to much over 100ms.
