Ok so when I use foobar my tags get all jacked up and i don't know why and then i have to retag them and this removes my ratings and playcount making it really really annoying... anyone got some suggestions?
I have a suggestion to specify which file types it happens with, when does it happen and what you mean by "all jacked up".
i mean that the names, dates, and track numbers get removed. and i they are all mp3s

No one can help you with only little information you provide... So, here my suggestion
Provide more information.. If you don't know where to start you might try these.
It seem that you use foobar for quite sometime now and don't have such problem. If it happen recently it only mean that you recently done something.. think about what you have done before it happen and post here.
When you retag your files, do your tag got remove again when using foobar?
Do you use another program to listen, tag your files beside foobar?
Any more info you can provide?
Now I sound like some kind of phone-in help and support.

To me it sounds like you maybe have setup a wrong preferred tag-type with your mp3. foobar2000 can be setup to use APEv2 or ID3v2 default - Which one are you using? (see in the preferences under advanced). I guess you want to use ID3v2, but as others have mentioned, you need to explain a little more.
If foobar2000 expects APEv2 tags, and your files are tagged with ID3v2 it might seem that the files have no tags. However, I'm not sure that the tags have been erased - Try to switch the setting and see if the tags shows up.
ok. this has been happening for a while now, I just didn't feel like mentioning it yet so it isn't something i did recently. I use ID3v2 tags, but they get removed after i play the song in foobar a few times. i have them tagged in both ID3v1 and ID3v2 and the ID3v1 tags will stay correct even after being played several times, but the ID3v2 tags will get removed. I use ultra tag editor to tag my files so i don't understand why this happens.
Think you need to check the box under preferences >advanced > id3v2 writer compatibility mode.
or even better, learn to tag with foobar.
foobar writes id3v2.4 and id2v1 default when changing something in the track. (for example when you choose to write playbackstatistics to tags).
I simply can't imagine foob really removes those tags. is that conclusion based on you viewing them in your taggerprogram and that program doesn't show them?
Maybe you didn't import playback statistics to database. rightclick a selection of all your music and choose playback statistics > import statistics from filetags. (if you didn't do this, maybe foob starts over with the playcount for those files, coz it didn't know of the tags with statistics)
yeah i made the conclusion from not seeing the tags in the program i use... and both your suggestions were very helpful... i didn't have the id3v2 writer compatibility checked 4 one and second i didn't know i could use that import statistics thing. thanks a lot for the help.
btw... how do i tag with foobar???
