My track numbers are'nt always well sorted.
I'd like to have this sorting mode by default when I select a folder:
Album, then title, then track number.
Thanks in advance,
Mar2zz
Go to edit > sort > sort by
and fill there any scheme you want.

you asked for %album% %title% %track number%

Many thanks for the fast answer.
I wrote : " %ALBUM% - %DISCNUMBER% - %TITLE% - %TRACKNUMBER% "
It seems to work, but will that be the default scheme ???

It stays that order untill you choose another one. For incoming files though (files coming in from windows explorer context menu (enqueue or play in foobar) for example) you need to set the sort order under preferences > general > Sort incoming files by
That is path_sort now, but you might want to change it there too.

When you create autoplaylists you can force a sortscheme by adding SORT BY %choose%or SORT DESCENDING BY %choose%. That will overwrite your sortscheme for these playlists only.

Thanks again.
BTW, I deleted %title% in the Edit/Sort menu because it is sometimes confusing.

Can you clarify what exactly you mean? I think Mar2zz already gave an exhausting answer. Probably you should edit
CODE
preferences > general > Sort incoming files by
which was already mentioned in the answer you quoted. This scheme is applied to files which are added to a playlist, may it be from Album list or from Windows Explorer.

When I send an item in the album list to the current playlist, the tracks appear in the playlist view, but they are not always sorted in order.
I can do it via "Edit"/"sort by" but I don't want to have to do it for each album, I would prefer have it done by default, i.e. when I open FB.
Not sure I'm clear...

Album list drops them in a playlist the way it is sorted in album list.
If you use for example a custom setting without tracknumbers, it will sort it according to the alphabet.

So check if the list in albumlist is sorted the way you want. If it isn't, you have to edit the album list views in preferences to make it sort the way you want.

I have tested the above with an active library viewer and playlist, so maybe it's different when you drop.

Maybe a screenshot of your problem will clearify a lot in this queste to aid you.

Thanks for the information.
The default order is from the filenames, I guess.
As I have only separate flac file (no cuesheets) for every title, I have started to rename files from %album%-%track% in albums where there is a problem (I find it is easier with MP3tag), and it seems to be working better...

biggrin.gif Finally, I have used FB : selecting all the albums, "file operations"_rename by :
%album% - %track%
%title%-%track%
%track%-%album%
%track%-%tiltle%
...and so on, according to the best scheme, after renaming album CD1, Album CD2 ...etc
Now my albums are sorted according to the file order (in each directory, of course) and tracks in the playlist are in the right alphabetical order.
