I want to get the very best quality of loading music into iTunes and then burning back to a CD. Size is not an issue. I just want to get the very best back out of iTunes. I have a Mac Pro INTEL 5GB ram I'm running the latest Leopard OS 10.5.4. I downloaded vorbis_tools 1.1.1 and unstuffed it. So now I have 5 files I don't know what to do with oggdec, oggenc, ogginfo, vcut, and vorbiscomment. If by chance i should download something better please let me know, Thanks

First off vorbis_tools is used for encoding, decoding, etc Vorbis files, and you can't use it with iTunes.

Second, to get the "best" out of iTunes means you're going to need to get a format it accepts (mainly MP4 AAC, MP3 or ALAC). With regards to quality, if space isn't an issue then go lossless (use ALAC with iTunes).

Thanks for the speedy reply. Where can I find ALAC or is that RockBox?

ALAC is an acronym for Apple Lossless Audio Codec, which comes bundled with iTunes. Go to Edit -> Preferences, then the Advanced tab, then the Importing sub-tab, and then select Apple Lossless Encoder from the list of codecs. iTunes should then use ALAC when you rip a CD with it.
