Using Display/Columns UI there's an option to "Put dropped files at end of playlist".

Is there a way to have this behaviour when using Display/Default User Interface?
If not, I'd like to suggest that it get added.

Nope, that doesn't work. I'm not adding from a command line, I'm drag & dropping from either the default album list or from Windows Explorer.

You should put dropped files on status bar.

But it would still be nice to have the same functionality as with the Columns UI since it doesn't require dropping on the status bar.
