Hey guys, I've noticed that when you change the volume, it goes from -100dB to 0dB.
Is there any ways of making it go above 0dB?

All I know is that there's a GAIN option when I right click the song, but I don't want to be actually EDITING the file itself. I just want to increase the volume. My computer volume is at max and my headphone volumes too. I just want it to go a little higher, without having to edit the file itself.

You can increase the volume by up to 12 dB in the player's preferences under "playback". But I don't recommend that as it certainly causes clipping unless a limiter of some sort is used. And even then you will get degraded sound because you are compressing the signal.

Well how come you can decrease the dB without loss but you can't inscrease the volume? Also, my speakers can go real loud, but with my headphones, some songs are just too low for me. I know it might be kinda newbish question, but I'm not really good in all these buffer/sound compression stuff.

Also, what's the difference between With RG and Without RG.

Oh and if the loss is really small, I wouldn't mind it.

RG stands for ReplayGain. So it means that you can set different volume attenuations/boosts for files with and without embedded RG information.

It is not small. Everything above 0 dB is chopped off, so to speak. That's called clipping. The result is distorted sound.

Sounds like you need a headphone amp.

The volume coming out of your sound card will almost certainly never exceed line.
