Hi, I've got some questions wich would really improve my music library & music sorting.
1. I can add multiple values in one tag by seperating them with ";". But can these multiple values be seperated? eg: if I tag a band with "rock; pop" in albumlist it will appear as genre "rock, pop". But can these values appear seperately, can one file appear twice: in "pop" and "rock" section?
2. This is somewhat reverse version of previous question. I have many split recordings in my collection. I would like to improve my file sorting script for splits with artist tag. But if i make it like this %artist% - %album%. It will create 2 folders, each one for each artist. Can I make a statement, that takes all the values from %artist% (so it looks like %artist1% & %artist2% - %album%) or should i add the value %artist1% & %artist2% in some special tag (eg album artist)?

oh, and is thre an IRC channel for hydrogenaudio and/or foobar users?

1. %<genre>% will make them appear separately.
2. Look into $metasep in foobar titleformat reference.
3. #foobar2000 in freenode.

I'm pretty sure that you can't. could you give an example of where you would use a feature like that? Maybe there are alternative means to achieve the same goal...
Nemphael
Without an example, I'm not sure if this is correct, but I assume the $meta() function is what you want.
skazhy
Yes, the $meta seems to do the trick. When I'll get home (no fb2k for openSUSE sad.gif ) i'll check it out.

Well, if I store multiple dates in %date% tag, and keep them in certain order eg 1st date for original release, 2nd for re-release or so. But that's just one quick idea for my music library 2.0 biggrin.gif

I'd use a possibility like that for having several genres in one file. Another similar idea would be to add a new tag called "tags" with mood tags for that song, so I could easily find all songs that sound melancholic etc. Unformtunately I think that won't work in the album list...

there was function $meta_sep ( right here ). But somehow it's not working. If I try to copy (or show in album list) a multi artist album with syntax $meta_sep(artist, '&') it's still making 2 different folders for each of the artists :/
