Full Version: I am having a dBpowerAMP and Exact Audio Copy dilemma

Hi, I am sort of an audiophile, but good freaking damn it I can't find a music CD ripping software as easy and extremely neat as dBpowerAMP. But... in the other hand, good freaking damn it I can't find a music CD ripping software as accurate and extremely secure as Exact Audio Copy.

I am pretty sure that people would suggest dBpowerAMP for it's simplicity and it's accurate ripping. I'm also pretty sure that other people would suggest EAC for it's even better accuracy but difficult configuration.

I was just wondering... is there any documentation/index dictionary for EAC that can tell me exactly all of the configuration options for EAC? I uninstalled EAC, but I can recall that NOT all of the options have a tooltip explaining exactly what the selection does. I also can NOT find any tutorial that satisfies me, because they don't explain to me the reason to enable or disable that option.

Do you know how a program has an index/search option on the right menu? I'm basically looking for that. Can someone make an external index for Exact Audio Copy? I really want to use EAC, but I need an index where I can search everything I need to know like a dictionary/encylopedia. Forums, google, and tutorials don't seem secure enough for me to do what I want to do.

I am sorry, if there actually is an index or guide that comes with the program, if so I'll check again.
Also is there any suggestions anyone can give me?

Whether EAC or dBpa is more accurate really depends on your hardware, the condition of the disc being ripped and how the the programs are configured. There are circumstances where dBpa will be able to accurately extract data that EAC cannot. This is especially true with drives that provide C2 error information because dBpa's implementation is far superior to EAC's.

As for an EAC guide, please refer to our wiki...

Hey, does the EAC software currently have index?

and is: http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=Category:EAC_Guides all I need to do my settings? I don't need any other link right?

Also, my dBpoweAMP software says that C2 Error Protection works on my drive, I currently use it.

Hey, does the EAC software currently have index?
EAC does not have a help file if that's what you mean.

It should be all you need, yes. If you have any specific questions after reading it over, feel free to ask.
