Hello,

I have some MP3 files that present the following problem when I test them with MP3val:

"Garbage in the end of file" after that I click on "Repair" button to fix them and all seems to be O.K
but when I decode to WAV this MP3 files with Trader's Little helper all the processed/fixed files present this error: file is truncated ( xx frames of yyyyy frames are missing).

I have the following questions:

1.- Can someone tell me if it is necesary to fix the MP3 files that present some grabage at the end of the file with MP3val?

2.- Can someone teel me what does mean " File is truncated"? It represents serious damage to the file?

I have to tell that after a listening test of the truncated files I can't hear any error, clicking or noise.

Thank you.

I'm not familiar with MP3val, but I do know that ID3 tag information goes at the end of an mp3 file. Maybe MP3val doesn't support the tag format in the files in question, and it thinks that it is garbage... Just a guess.

In general, each mp3 frame contains enough information to be correctly decoded by itself, so if your only problem is potentially missing some frames from the end, you wouldn't hear any difference in earlier parts of the file.
