There are 5 wav files. 1 is the original, labeled as such. The others are wav decoded from 4 different lossy compression. I'm going to set the poll for 2 weeks, and then disclose which format is which. Anyway, as the title said, this is just an informal poll, for fun. Pick which testfile that sounds the best/worst for you. It is not my intention for this to be a full blown ABX test since obviously every vote will be biased. I do include the original so if you're interested in doing some ABX tests, please do so, and share the result. Everybody can comment on why they voted what.

I'm wondering how to get more votes, considering the view count. There's only 1 single voter in poll #6! Or maybe I've been posting too many polls? Is the 2 week period not long enough?

Can't tell the difference. What the heck am I doing on an audio forum, one might ask.

If I didn't know, I'd say that the source was lossy as well at some point. Or it's another of those mysterious cases when audio is inentionally produced mp3-like. It certainly would cause me to go back to the CD and tripple check.

I can assure you the source is not lossy, at least not on my end as I rip it directly from the original CD. It is a live recording though.

I believe it would help if you provide a little background on what you want to achieve. I don't feel compelled to participate on something I don't know what it is and yes the elevated number of pools you posted is annoying to me.

I see. I believe I already stated enough background on the intention of the polls on the thread for poll #2. I guess I'm posting these at the wrong forum. I though people at HA will more than likely to vote in listening test polls. Not to worry, if it is true that the general sentiment of people in the forum consider my polls to be an annoyance, with a mod approval, I'll go and delete all my poll posts. Sorry to annoy you.

I don't understand this passive-agressive attitude. You asked for feedback in the very first post in this pool. That won't help getting voters and you surely made me lose the little interest I had.

Another thing: I do not speak for the whole forum, I just speak for myself. Keeping or deleting your threads or pools makes no difference to me. I'll just bypass them from now on.
