Do they have a program made specifically for ripping audio CDs?
menno
run: Nero.exe -Dialog:SaveTracks
or use the Audio Ripping page in StartSmart

But no standalone application

Thank you!

I thought maybe there was a hidden feature in Nero WaveEditor or some other program for ripping CDs.

The StartSmart thing isn't very customizable, EAC with Nero's encoder gives you more freedom.

How many megabytes is Nero currently? But yet a program that was initially designed to work with CDs does not have a decent redbook ripper. biggrin.gif

It has a CD ripper, but not as stand-alone product.

I think the operative word was "decent".

Why was this posted to the AAC forum? I'm moving it.

A lot.

Anyway, it does have a ripper.

If you go to StartSmart, you can find it easily, but if you want more options you have to go Nero Burning ROM > Extras > Save Tracks (or use Run, as menno suggested). Then there are 9 file types to choose from: PCM Wav File, AC3 file, AIFF file, mp3/mp3PRO, Windows Media Audio, Nero Digital Audio, APE, FLAC, Ogg Vorbis.

I posted it in there because I wanted to know if Nero included in its software a highly configurable ripper for AAC, ie. if I didn't want to use the command line in EAC, I could use some part of Nero's suite to rip the albums.

And since it was about AAC, I posted in there.
