Hi, I recently bought a Sansa Clip 2GB and am ripping CDs with Audiograbber V4 Lame 3.98 and Cdex Alt Preset Fast Medium V4 Lame 3.98 also. I'm curious if non-DRM .wma files at the same bitrate take up more battery life than lame mp3? A thread on another forum seemed to indicated that DRM WMA took up more battery life but I didn't know about the non DRM, Thanks for your help.

On a CPU like the Clips (AS3525), there should not be any measurable difference unless Sandisk got sloppy and used a poor codec for one format.

Here is estimated playback time for my Panasonic portable CD player SL-CT820 (from the operating instructions), tested non-DRM WMA@64 and MP3@128:
2 optional AA alkaline batteries - WMA 140h MP3 130h;
2 supplied rechargeable batteries - WMA 80h MP3 75h.
