Hello everyone!

I was looking to rip Audio from some Concert DVDs that I own. Is there an EAC equivalent that could extract audio from DVDs?

Any leads are appreciated!

PS - I will probably be converting them to a lossy format (MP3).

Thanks! biggrin.gif

DVDDecrypter is a tried and tested tool for DVD ripping. It does no conversion, you'll get either PCM, AC-3 or DTS streams in output.

Most functionality that makes EAC so special is not necessary with DVD, which is a proper digital format with addressable sectors and error detection.

Here's one guide with screenshots. Stop reading when it requires you to open GoldWave. Everything else can be done with Foobar.

I've recently started using the program "DVD Audio Extractor." It seems to work very well and is extremely easy to use. You save directly to flac or wav files. I'm curious of others experience with this program.

Thanks for that. I wonder if this is easier (and just as powerful) as DVD Decryptor?

Since, we are talking DVDs for the moment: what's the preferred DVD copy software nowadays? Is Slysoft's Clone DVD one of the better ones? Hefty price tag!

Thanks again!

maybe "DVD Decryptor", "DVD Fab Decryptor" or "DVD Shrink" smile.gif

but there are all for DVD-Video discs (VTS).
which do you talk about DVD-Audio discs (ATS) or DVD-Video discs (VTS) ?

Actually, I was looking for a program that would "rip" Audio from DVD Videos. I have a few U2 concerts DVDs (commercial) that I wanted to extract>WAV>MP3.

Alongside that, I was looking for a solid DVD copier to simply make 1:1 identical copies. Hate using my originals! I have used DVD Shrink in the past and it works so solidly. Someone told me that because it's not updated anymore, it won't rip DVDs that have newer copy protections.

Why look for anything other than DVDDecrypter for the audio?

I use DVDDecrypter, DVD Shrink and DVD Rebuilder to back-up DVDs. The only DVD that has given me any problem in Shrink is Curse of the Golden Flower. I used DVDFab Decrypter for that IIRC.

Is DVD Decrypter not available any longer? I googled it and it sent me to IMGBURN?

I use this one as well. Ripping directly to FLAC is nice, and afterwards I used a program called CD Wave Editor to split the Audio track up into chapters (it works on FLAC, WAV, APE and w64)
