I have heard from old timers that the dos Fraunofer l3dec 2.72 decoded to 24 bit hex is the most accurate decoder. How does this compare with MAD 24 bit and Foobar2000 32 - 24 bit decode?

I think there are no hearable difference between the different MP3 decoders.
But there are big differences between MP3 encoders.

hm good question. i'd like to hear a statement from peter if he thinks that his hacked mpglib is better than the fraunhofer codec.

Well he says that there should be no hearable difference, altho many people claims so. But you can check foobar2000 feature list and compare it somehow with fraunhofer decoder.
