What could be the reason for a TFT that is connected to the PC via a DVI cable to flicker? The resolution (1680x1050), bit depth (32-bit) and frequency (60 Hz) are according to the recommended settings.

Flickering is extremely visible with a 1px² x 1px² checkerboard and loses intensity with a 5px² x 5px² checkerboard for example.

How about this picture?

I made it myself after i noticed a buzzing sound from my TFT when part of this was displayed. After posting it on Prad.de, there are many other people whose TFT starts to buzz when this image is shown. I think due to the way that the pixels are addressed, alternating pixel brightness like this or in the "chess board" seems to be one of the toughest things for TFTs.

No buzzing of flickering for that one, although I feel dizzy myself. biggrin.gif

Edit: Ah, if I move very closely to the TFT, I can hear a slight buzzing, but it's very, very quiet.

Someone from the German Prad forums pointed me to the following page that explains the cause for the flickering: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/inversion.php
