I just purchased Dido's latest album in Deluxe Edition version.

"Safe Trip Home" (2008) [Deluxe Edition]

2 CDs, 11 tracks on CD 1, 3 tracks on CD 2

After ripping to LAME 3.98 -V0, I get the following great (for modern times) gain values:

album gain = -5.27 dB

album peak = 1.055086


The album sounds really good whether listening on my PC or my Hi-Fi setup.

I think, I have the normal CD, 11 songs, and as Exact Original eac extraction in Lossless FLAC this album has as album gain -5,28 db and max. peak only 0,943.
I recall also last years or such release of 2 albums sung by Jennifer Lopez iirc.
her 1st album in Spanish language and another as usual in English.
The Spanish sung album had a reasonable till good sound quality, the replaygain level was at -7 db.
The English sung album of the same year had a compressed bad sound quality, typical victim of loudness war, album gain at -9 - -11 db, don#t remember exactly, but a clear difference....
So, mastering or sound engineers know exactly, what they are doing.....
