at all ? with some hacked firmware ? and/or will apple soon support it as with quicktime ?
is just a pain in the ... to double encode everything

I want OGG support for I pod!!!
afaik there are no ipod hacks for ogg and so why should there be any for aac?

As Apple does support aac/mp4 with the new quicktime. There might be some beta firmware with support for aac/mp4.

I mailed Apple once asking about AAC support.
They never replied.

I too emailed apple about this and received no reply. I've been an aac fan ever since rjamorim introduced me to the aac format and the different encoders.
