I used this link from the lame website: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.p...lease_id=628063

And when I tried using it in EAC it couldn't find the exe. that encodes the files because it doesn't come with one. How do I use it?

You downloaded the the source code, LAME doesn't provide premade executable files because of possible patent issues.

Nevertheless they are available from elsewhere, e.g. RareWares.

Thanks. When I'm using the encoder in EAC, I use the VBR command line "-V0 %s %d" and it keeps giving me bitrates of 302 kbps and stuff like that. I thought the target range was 220 to 260 kbps?

LAME VBR targets a quality level relating to the value of -V, not a bitrate range as such. It may just be that the particular track(s) you've tried so far requires more bits than is typical to achieve the target quality. How many tracks have you tried? smile.gif

Yeah that's it. Haha thanks. There's a lot of information on this stuff it's kind of hard to memorize haha.
