Currently it is impossible to search the site with date criteria.
If e.g. I search a string "mp3 recorder line in" I receive results from years 2003-2006 wich is totally out of date.
Also it is impossible to see the date without opening the topic.
How to make a post's date visable in Google search?
I have seen sites where the Google search shows topic post dates!

That's Google's service, they probably know where to look for it on commonly used forums and highlight it later.Speaking about Google, sometimes I had enough success with simply including the year in the search query - e.g. "mp3 recorder line in 2008".
