Full Version: Symbian 60 phones - only mp3 support :(

Now that we have finally managed to get other formats than plain old mp3 to flash / harddrive players, I checked the situation among the phones. Symbian 60 will be the platform for most phones, and I couldn't find other players than mp3 for it.

Of course phones (or their add-ons) have already mp3 or aac support, but Symbian would offer a possibility to run any codec on a phone with stereo output jack. If I understood correctly. dry.gif

So far I found two mp3-players for Symbian 60 phones:
- MP3Go 2.02
- Mp3player

I am purchasing Nokia 3650, which has an external MMC card (max 128 MB). Due to the small memory, it would be awesome to have a ogg support. Please!

Edit: just found out that the headset output on 3650 is mono. Argghhh!

Realplayer in Nokia 6630 plays mp3/AAC/M4A. Also has stereo playback. Same with newly announced 6680.

Plus they've announced a deal with Microsoft which should lead to more codec support.
