hm i just read a book about satanistic and occult influences in rock music in the 1980's and i thought "hey wouldn't it be cool to play some songs backwards and actually listen to the 'occult' messages" .. my second thought then was to add an option for playback speed, which, if i haven't missed anything, doesn't exist at the moment

if someone could do a plugin .. or just implement that feature into foobar2000 that would be cool

haha, cool, wot songs would u be playing backwards then? The only one i can think of is there was some beatles song that if u play it backwards apparently is says "paul is dead paul is dead" !!

well this book says stairway to heaven from led zeppelin (which i'm really curious in.. it says "listen we have been there! i will sing because i live with satan! serve me! there is no escaping it! with satan! if we've got to live with satan! master satan!" allegedly). it just would be interesting to try that out with some new songs and/or old black sabbath ones.
the other option i'd like to see (fast/slow) would be veeeeery cool for playing guitar, because you could learn the songs much easier

Sounds like a royal pain in the ass to pull off with a DSP plug-in. You'd be better off firing up Sound Forge.


EDIT: Pardon, it does sound possible, if you enjoy the prospect of the DSP buffering the entire song in memory before spitting out one backwards song. Or buffering X seconds and spitting the buffer out backwards. Either way, it's all crazy.

I don't think this would add anything besides novelty.. Oh by the way try reversing the intro to Slayer - Hell Awaits, it is truly interesting, and not a fake like so much others .. There is also some reversed stuff on Iron Maiden - Still Life as well.

yeah i really like the slow/fast tempo in players. i even had one of those plugins for winamp (which i abondoned a long time ago)... the plugin was Chrintron or sumthing.. it was the best one i ever saw.. it increased the tempo with increasing the pitch (so ur singers wont appear like tht they had swallowed helium b4 singing)

so plz someone work on this plugin

I'd appreciate reverse playback, too. Even if it means a little buffering.
