Monkey Audio version 4.06 processing.

Some of my ape files are giving me this error ERROR(Invailid Input File) on a decompress process.

Th files were probably compressed on 3.97 or lower version of Monkey Audio.

The typical file header info cannot be displayed for these bad files.

Anyone know of a fix program, either auto or manual, to recover my files.

I have tried to drop down to version 3.97 and process and still get a similiar error with that version.

Thanks in advance for any help.

If the version that compressed them can't uncompress them then apparently something has modified the files. Possibly something has tried to add tags to them? Find a program for removing unwanted tags and test it on a copy of one of the files.

have you already tried the decoder of foobar2000? I had also a similar error message with an old ape file, but with fb2k's decoder the decompression worked properly.
