I'm looking for a linux audio player that supports compilations in the media library. In other words, I don't want artists that I have only 1 or 2 tracks from appearing as a separate entry in the library view, but rather, I want them grouped by the "Album Artist" tag. I have several soundtracks in my library and it is very annoying seeing all of these entries for just 1 song.

I've tried Rhythmbox, Exaile, and Banshee so far.

EDIT: Also, as I side note, I don't really care for Amarok 2.

Another question: What player are you using with linux and why?

I use mpd+sonata as music library player, you can set up it on a server with a good pair of speaker and connect to it from tons of devices (mobile phone, other computers, etc). It supports replaygain, gapless and you can configure lots of options.
I use xmms on my laptop as standalone player, and sonata to connecto to the mpd server. Xmms is fast and I don't have too much music in the laptop so I don't need a music library here.
I use mplayer as audio/video streams dumper, also to decode some files and write them as pcm.
