I'd like to rip some audiocds in .ape, but I want to have 24bits and if possible a variable bitrate. Is it possible to convert apes in variable bitrates? Oh, and what I need are the parameters for foobar (command line encoder of course). Many thanks in advance

All lossless formats are VBR. APE too.

and there is no point using 24bit as CD's are 16bit.

Ok, thank you! Thought it is cbr because it just shows one constante bitrate in foobar!
