Sorry for asking this question cuz i am newbie.My PMP can't play .mp4 or .m4a files which is converted by nero aac encoder,even after I change the extension to .aac.If I set it output .aac in foobar,it programme will crash down.Would any one teach me how to output raw AAC file with nero?If nero can't,any chance there is another encoder can?THX guys!

You can't just rename the file. MP4 or M4A means the file is inside an MP4 container, you need to use a demuxer

You can do this in MP4UI http://mp4ui.sourceforge.net/

Install the app, run it, open your MP4 or M4A file, select TRACK 1, then click EXPORT and select the folder where you want the AAC to be written to.

You will then have a copy of the AAC file that was inside the MP4 file.

The Nero Encode Audio Files GUI lets you create .AAC files, it's odd the command line encoder won't.

Note that the quality of FAAC is not up to par with the currently best AAC encoders available

I've downloaded Nero Encode Audio Files GUI,it seems just can output mp4 and m4a in its option menu....BTW,do you mean FAAC is not as good as nero?THX man!

The GUI I was referring to is the one included in Nero Burning ROM, not a 3rd party one.

Yes, FAAC isn't on par with Nero Digital Audio, and the sentence underlining that I've copy/pasted from the AudioCoding.com page.
