Hey,

I have some music DVD's a friend has given me of live recordings from the BBC.

To get them all to play properly I seem to need to put them through Nero's transcoding process, that's the only thing that seems to get them to play properly on my player, but that's beside the point....

DVD Shrink tells me the original audio is "AC3 2ch Unspecified".
When I put it through the transcoding process it asks me to choose the output file to be "Dolby Digital AC3 2.0" or "Stereo".

I want it to be as close to the original format as possible, which one should I choose ?

Cheers

Why transcode? What did you try to make them play that did not work? Which format are they in?

I suspect maybe you just got a DVD that were burned incorrectly, i.e. VIDEO_TS files as ISO or something like that. If that's the case, you should be able to just burn the files properly as "DVD Video" in Nero and you'll be set without any transcoding wink.gif

I was thinking they may be PAL DVDs.

Your point being? Technically, PAL DVDs can validly contain mp2 audio but I don't recall ever seeing one commercially produced that way. If this is a 'home produced' DVD then it's probably not quite correctly authored.

My point being that his player might be NTSC. I wasn't talking about the audio, just about his need for transcoding the DVDs.

You're right, the OP isn't all that clear. wink.gif
